Uche Ogbuagu In Chaos -House Leader Attacks Taking Ikeduru Lawmaker To Court

Ogbuagu endorsed a motion during the House Plenary requesting for the start of the Chairmen and Treasurers' sample that served the 27 LGAs under the Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha, in office, for eight months. However, the said motion that afterward had a smooth majority-voice sail was objected by two lawmakers, Mbaitoli's Okey Onyekanma and Oguta's Frank Ugboma.

Reasons for rejecting the motion, correspondent monitoring hearings mentioned was because an investigative committee on public accounts set up by the House is yet to submit its reports, before another committee was discussed on the floor of the house for a fresh probe of Ihedioha's chairmen, amounting to two probes of the same nature by different motions.

According to Ugboma, that growth was a double risk and it contravenes a section of the law. Nevertheless, trouble exploded when other members, including the motion mover, hushed Ogbuagu at Ugboma who was still standing and acknowledging the House, asking why he should be against a motion he co-sponsored.

Irritated by the creation, the Oguta legislator cautioned the leader of the majority to never repeat such an act of putting his name in either a motion or a bill again without prior notice and acting to receive his consent. After dropping a warning note to Uche Ogbuagu he obviously left the chamber harshly. Besides that, the scuffle goes beyond verbal exchanges as another dimension has appeared with the Oguta representative not only demanding possible withdrawals from his Ikeduru counterpart but would go to court for a personality defamation and criminal charges suit.

The recent decision of Ugboma may not be unrelated to an alleged publication attributed to Ogbuagu, made in one of the state-based tabloids, calling Ugboma a 'lukewarm legislator.' The legal professional turned lawmaker said Uche Ogbuagu not only used unprintable names against him but also lied with his name.

He was of the viewpoint that there was never a time when Ogbuagu approached him for his viewing pleasure with the said motion, adding that he had no justification to agree to such. He said that it wasn't part of the lawmakers' duties to malign or talk ill of another, so Ogbuagu said it has imbibed the ugly pattern of always talking badly of people and prior governments.

In the same vein, he divulged that he has attracted the attention of the governance of the House and his coworkers, pointing out that he would be left with no option than to resort to self help in redeeming his name. Hon Ugboma indicated that on the accusations that he threatened the Ikeduru member, he denied having any knowledge of that or even thought about going physical with him. He forwarded that having known the powers not to resort to violence, but rather to deal with issues according to law stipulations, he would not be vexed in trying to take laws into his hands.

He recounted part of the message from Whatsapp which he sent to Hon Ogbuagu as such, "Uche take note! I made no threat whatsoever. Please run a check on me to get to know me better. I repeat, if nothing is done on this slanderous and scurrilous publication credited to you within 24 hours, I shall pursue legal action without delay. I swear with my children and you know it, that you lied against me at plenary, when you made the claim that you brought your motion to me for perusal before filing same.
