Northern CAN informs Miyetti Allah You Don't Own Nigeria

On Sunday, the Nigerian Christian Association (CAN) across 19 Northern States and FCT warned Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) factional chief that the Fulani do not own Nigeria. The Fulani leader had bragged that Fulani belongs to Nigeria and that they might continue to rule for forever. But in a statement in Kaduna on Sunday, the vice-chairman of CAN, 19 Northern States and FCT, Rev John Joseph Hayab, defined such a statement as coming from those who don't want to live together in peace and unity in Nigeria.

The report posted, in part, "Our role is that no well-meaning person should use the name of an association or platform like Miyetti Allah to make such severe divisive declarations as the one above. "The truth is that Nigeria resides not to any ethnic group, section or religion but to all of us. Making false claims like that of the president of Miyetti Allah would only generate a crisis of stress and fuel. 

"CAN consequently calls on the Federal Government, through DG SSS and IGP, to hold a meeting with the Champion of Ethnic Superiority to educate him on Nigeria 's diversity and the need to protect him from such irresponsible declarations. "There is an important need for all well-meaning representatives of the Miyetti Allah group to disentangle themselves from the semantic quibble linked to the group as proof that the speaker does not play script. "There are undoubtedly representatives of Miyetti Allah who honestly love this country, antsy to see the community develop in peace and develop in every sphere, realising that the comment credited to the chairman of the group is not a common opinion, as such, must be openly condemned. 

"The problems in Nigeria are many; from insecurity to terrible economy, and now the Covid-19. Consequently, CAN does not want to add to the barrage of difficulties that the country faces by allowing disreputable people to make egregious and unearthly declarations with hazardous security risks.
