A disoriented father in the commercial capital of Nigeria, Lagos, is calling on the governments to help find his four-year - old daughter who has been swept away during recent flash flooding. The little girl, Azeezat, was caught in the floodwaters as her family attempt to flee Thursday's sudden flood at home in the neighborhood of Age, her father Basil Tariho said "When it took over our home, we decided to dodge the flood, we fell by the drainage while running away, my baby lost her footing and the flood took her away," he stated.
He stated that he started searching the drains and the waterways they run into for his daughter along with community members, but they could not discover her. The floodwater also submerged the house of Mr Tariho, destroyed its property inside and left the family living on the street.
The flooding also demolished other neighborhood homes and wounded a number of others. It is the rainy season at Lagos at the moment, but Age is not normally so severely affected. One problem was that over the level of the houses were built the drains running alongside a recently rebuilt road in the area. Once the drains had flowed water down into nearby homes.
