WWE champion The Undertaker has 'no intention to be in the ring anymore'

The Undertaker earned an outburst of social media encouragement after claiming that he had "no desire to get back into the ring." In a new documentary the 55-year-old, whose real name is Mark Calaway, said there was "nothing left for [him] to conquer."

His words suggest that he plans to retire after a three-decade professional life. But neither Mr Calaway nor the WWE formally announced that he would retire from the league. But during new WWE biopic The Last Ride the Dead Man, as he's nicknamed, made the comments.

He began talking about his latest match against wrestler AJ Styles that ended with him trying to bury his opponent and riding a motorcycle away. "This was a beautiful moment. You don't always always get those. If a career had ever come to a great end, it was right there," Mr Calaway said.

"It's really time for that cowboy to ride away," he added. "Outside the ring I can do more good than I can inside. I am finally at a place where I can accept that." He said that he'd consider going back for one more match, but that'd mean "just time."

Mr Calaway was a multiple heavyweight world champion, six-time tag team title holder and Royal Rumble champion. In 1987, he began his career with the World Class Championship Wrestling and moved to the WWE as a final member of the Million Dollar Team of Ted DiBiase in the 1990s.

Mr Calaway is considered a pioneer in the WWE too. He was part of Survivor Series' first Casket Match in 1992, 1996's first horribly mutilated match and 1997 's inaugural Hell in a Cell game. However, he has not chosen to pursue superstars like John Cena or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson into movies, despite his immense popularity.
