The decomposing body of a missing 9-year-old South African girl was found packed in a neighbor's closet

The decomposing body of 9-year-old Boipelo Sesele was found stuffed in a neighbor's wardrobe that helped locate her after she was missing in Kroonstad, Gelukkwaarts in Free State , South Africa, published by IOL on Sunday, September 20.

The Grade 4 pupil was last seen playing in the street with her friends not far from her home on September 1, around 1.00. Boipelo had been tempted by a man to "hunt for change at the shops," according to her 6-year-old mate, with whom she played at the time of her disappearance.

Her disappearance sparked an immense search effort that lasted 12 days. Police spokesman Brigadier Sam Makhele said community members who had been assisting the police with the search went on Saturday, September 12, to investigate a bad smell coming from a shack near Boipelo 's home, after local kids had raised an alarm.

He said the kids had complained of the "bad smell from a shack not far from Biopelo 's home." They went to the shack and found it locked, forced entry and opened the wardrobe where the scent came from and found Boipelo 's body, then alerted the police, "he said. He added that police officers who tried to step in were also attacked

"In the end they managed to get him out of this tense situation, but the emergency medical service later pronounced him dead," he said.

A community leader, Morena Thebe, who confirmed the incident, said the decomposing body of the young girl had been found three streets away from their house.

"What is even more puzzling was that Rasta was part of the search team, which worked diligently after her disappearance to locate Boipelo. As we looked for her, he went up and down with us. "I recall how we went into that very yard but did not search in the house or shack because nothing was suspicious,"

Thebe said, adding that he suspects that by attending their regular routes, Rasta was keeping tabs on their routes.Thebe instantly saw the young girl's hand sticking out of the wardrobe as they entered the shack.

It was incredible that her body was right under our nose, and that the killer was with us, looking for us. I 'm sure she wasn't killed there but was then taken to the shack and left to rot,

"The whole community has had a devastating effect on this event, and since the discovery we are not the same. Everyone is on the brink, everyone is furious, and people feel let down by the police force that ignored the cry of Boipelo 's mother," he explained.

He was described by a neighbor next to Rasta's shack, who preferred anonymity, as a "character" who did not spend much time in that part of the city but would rather go to the "old township" and retire at night to his shack, high on whatever he smoked.

"Some nights he'd be screaming and cursing at people and that's when I 'd come out to reproach him for his language in front of the kids," he said. Boipelo 's death has caused so much rage and anger inside the group that last Wednesday, a neighbor was sadly beaten by three balaclava-wearing men, just for being the next-door neighbor of Rasta.

"The man with a swollen face and a busted lip said," They kept asking questions about what I knew about the killing, and they kept beating me senselessly, even though I kept explaining that I didn't know anything.

"I had to take my wife and child far from here to protect them because I didn't know what else was going to happen to me." Boipelo 's mother, Pena Sesele, and her two grandmothers, Moipone and Nketsing Sesele, mourned their young child's death.

“No mother ever dreams of burying their child and even though we searched for Boipelo, I had hope that she would come back to me. That I can carry her and support her through the pain of being lost for so long, "she said on Sunday 20 September in an interview with Sunday Independent.

"I never saw my little girl going home walking and coming back in a casket," the griefstricken mother said. While the family did not know Rasta personally, they said they had lived in Constantia Park for years, they had never dreamed that a gruesome murder would come on their doorstep.

I have always had visions and dreams of her returning to us since the day of her disappearance, followed by a lot of group celebrations. That was my prayer,' said Moipone, her maternal grandmother. Meanwhile, Boipelo was laid to rest on Wednesday, September 16.
