Juanma Lillo: Man City has confirmed Spaniard as an assistant to Guardiola

Spanish coach Juanma Lillo has been confirmed at Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's No.2. Guardiola was without an assistant since the exit of Mikel Arteta who in December 2019 left for Arsenal.

Arteta managed City for nearly three years as an assistant, before he left to replace Unai Emery for a sensational return to Arsenal. Guardiola had been without a constructive assistant ever since, with Lillo 's appointment now expected to fill the empty space. Lillo led the Chinese side Qingdao Huanghai to the title One of the Chinese League before his election.

In addition, the 54-year-old had managing stints with Oviedo, Tenerife, Zaragoza and Real Sociedad. The Spaniard had managed the Chilean national team away from managing clubs. Interestingly, he had previously managed Guardiola as a player at Mexican side Dorados de Sinaloa at the end of the City manager's tenure.

Liverpool was taken to win the title of this season with Supercomputer giving the Anfield landlords the crown with three more losses. Liverpool also attempted to win the Premier League last season, having lost just one game all season as Manchester City finally defeat them to win the title.

But Liverpool went on to win the Champions League which for Jurgen Klopp and his wards was an exciting run. They actually started this current campaign superbly and since then the Reds have topped the standings even though Watford has demolished their undefeated record.

The season will continue next week Wednesday after nearly three months with Aston Villa taking on Sheffield United, while Manchester City will face Arsenal's long-term competitor. Liverpool has been named by the Supercomputer as the champions in which Manchester City will end as runners-up on the final table, according to the UK Sun report.
